“Pause and Reflect”

Quarantine has added an uncertain ‘comma’ to the lives of people. It is a time to sit and just ‘be’. To pause, to reflect, to heal…

Rahaao is a popular word in Sikhism, and it’s Bani. In fact, it is my favorite thing about the script in Sikh prayers. (rah-haa-oh). The word is prevalent throughout the Granth Sahib. It asks the reader to pause and reflect on a particular set of lines. To be mindful of the words written. To read again and again, to churn, to mull over, to question, and to form their own ideology. What a lovely thing it asks of you! Stillness. Just be. You and your thoughts are brewing together like a gorgeous cup of coffee.

It’s the right time to apply our leanings all through our lives. What could I have done better? How can I do better in the future? What did I learn from all this?

“Sit back and give yourself the gift of hindsight. God knows, we need it.”

There is a lot to speculate on. Considering our relentless pace through life and we must take this opportunity to rethink our actions as a race on this planet.

  • Are we really doing the best we can?
  • Are we contributing to this world as much as we are taking away from it?
  • Are we ‘conscious’ human beings or just some creatures in this world?
